    Washington State Exempt Salary Threshold

Presented by: Robert Joy (L&I), Tiffany Richard (L&I) and Sylvia Cardenas (L&I)

    Session Description:

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) invites you to attend a webinar about the new overtime rules that have gone into effect as of July 1. The changes update the exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional workers, as well as outside salespeople and computer professionals.

In this webinar, you will learn about the updates, including changes to the job duties tests for each exemption category and the minimum salary threshold an exempt employee must earn to qualify for exemption from the protections of the state Minimum Wage Act.

The webinar will begin with a 45-minute presentation by outreach specialists from L&I’s Employment Standards program, followed by 15 minutes for questions and answers.

    Presenter Description:

Robert Joy, Tiffany Richard and Sylvia Cardenas are Employment Standards Outreach Specialist for the Department of Labor & Industries. This team conducts outreach to the public and internal staff on the rules, regulations and processes for EAP workers. In addition to these effective outreach efforts, they also work diligently to create tools, resources and guidance to internal staff members and external stakeholders.
