President's Report
I am honored and excited to step into the role of President for the SHRM West Sound chapter this coming year. As I look ahead, I’m filled with gratitude for the strong foundation built by our past leaders, our dedicated board, and each of you who contribute to the vitality of our HR community.
Human Resources continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and our chapter plays a critical role in helping professionals navigate change, build meaningful connections, and strengthen their skills. In the year ahead, my commitment is to foster an environment where every member feels supported, informed, and inspired.
Our priorities will focus on:
- Enhancing member engagement through relevant programming and opportunities to connect.
- Elevating professional development with practical, timely learning experiences.
- Expanding community and organizational partnerships to strengthen our impact.
- Creating space for dialogue around the challenges and innovations shaping the HR landscape.
Most importantly, I want this chapter to continue being a place where HR professionals—new and seasoned—feel empowered to grow, lead, and contribute.
Thank you for your trust and your continued involvement. I look forward to a year of collaboration, fresh ideas, and meaningful progress. Together, we’ll continue to make SHRM West Sound a valuable resource and a strong HR community.

In Case You Missed It!
A few of us from the SHRM West Sound Board had the chance to attend the Washington State SHRM Conference, and it was such a great reminder of why this work matters.
We spent time learning, connecting, and honestly just stepping back a bit to think about where HR is heading and how we can better support our local community. There was a lot of practical takeaways, but also some really meaningful conversations with HR professionals from across the state.
We’re bringing that energy and those ideas back with us as we continue to plan programming and create space for connection here at home.
Grateful we had the opportunity—and excited for what’s ahead.

SHRM Certification
Earning your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential makes you a recognized expert and leader in the HR field.
The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP are offered during two windows each year. When applying for the exam, you must apply during the application period that coincides with your testing window. Applications must be received by the standard deadline for each window.
Exam: May. 1st - Jul. 15th
